Tracking Helps

Sometimes, just for a reality check, I track everything I eat for a day or two.  I am always surprised.  I may think I’m eating healthy – and in a lot of ways, I am – but writing it all down helps me see where things could be better.

The simple act of writing everything down changes the game a little.  I may decide not to eat a cookie just because I know I have to write it down.  Or, I may add more veggies into the day so my little notebook will smile as I write that down.

“What can be measured can be managed” is a long-standing management axiom.  Write it all down, maybe for as long as a week.  Then browse back through your lists and see where you could make simple changes that will help you reach your fitness goals.  I know I always find plenty to change.  Maybe this will help you too!
